What happens when you give security teams a crew of AI agents?

Evgeniy Kharam

A recent write-up from Shashi Bellamkonda takes a look at what we’re building at Discern and why it matters right now.

The short version: security teams are overwhelmed. Too many tools, too many alerts, not enough time to actually fix things. Most teams spend more time managing findings than resolving them.

That’s the gap we’re going after.

Instead of adding another dashboard, Discern introduces six AI agents that each take on a specific part of the security workflow; from figuring out what assets you actually have, to prioritizing risk, to helping drive remediation.

The idea is simple:
let machines handle the repetitive, data-heavy work so humans can focus on decisions.

A few highlights from the piece:

One thing the article calls out (and we agree): this isn’t just a tooling problem, it’s a workflow problem. Security teams don’t just need more data, they need clarity and coordination.

That’s ultimately what an agent-based approach is trying to solve.

If you’re feeling the pain of too many alerts, disconnected tools, or slow time-to-fix, this is a space worth paying attention to.
